Fo Fo Figgily's First Haircut: A Review and A Giveaway!

UPDATE (7/5/2011): Out of 4 valid entries, Random.org drew #3. Congratulations, Angela! I've sent an email requesting your information! Thanks to everyone who entered!

When I first received the DVD from Mamarazzi Knows Best and opened it, my initial thought was "Oh no! This isn't going to go well!" You see, Pickle, my 5 year old son, has never had his hair cut! I was concerned that the show might somehow make him feel pressured into getting a haircut, or make him feel silly with his long hair.

I'm happy to report that my fears were put at ease as soon as the show started! Pickle watched it, interacted with it, and LOVED it!

In Fo-Fo Figgily's First Haircut, Fo-Fo Figgily and his friends Logan, Vivala Wee, Kendal Bootglow, Mr. Pinch, Ernest Earthworm, Fixle Bowstring and the Task Tinkers, took us on an adventure through Seabucklebark, where the motto is "Anything is possible when you work together!"

Fo-Fo Figgily was struggling to see his keyboard through his shaggy, thick, purple hair. His friends Logan and Vivala Wee try to help him find a solution. Their search leads them on a trek around town, where each of their friends attempts to help. The experience was a positive one, where Fo-Fo Figgily has a lot of fun learning what it means to get a haircut, instead of a new hair DO.

While the main lesson is about working together and making anything possible, there are several other lessons to be learned, such as what the different traffic light colors mean, healthy eating tips, fitness tips, and one that I felt was VERY important to teach your children: ONLY GROWN-UPS SHOULD CUT YOUR HAIR.

Speaking from my own childhood hair cutting experience, this is EXTREMELY important to teach our children. Granted, I still have my eyes, and yes, hair DOES grow back, the growing out process can be a bit challenging, when some chunks have been chopped nearly to the scalp! For this reason, I keep my scissors locked in my sewing room when they are not being used!

My children really had a fun time with Fo-Fo and his friends, dancing, singing, and learning...they have asked me to play it over and over and over again, and each time, they act as excited to see it as the very first time!

Find Fo-Fo Figgily on Facebook or Twitter! You can also check out Fo-Fo Figgily's Website, where you and your child can Meet the Characters, play games, and SO MUCH MORE!

You can purchase Fo-Fo Figgily's First Haircut or Fo-Fo Figgily's Surprise Birthday Adventure, OR you can purchase them as a set!

I've heard all sorts of great stuff about these Fo Fo Figgily characters. I think Some Boy would like Ernest Earthworm because he has those awesome shades.
